A stunning Sophie blouse from our friend Zara of Las Ninas Textiles. Zara works directly with the makers in Mexico and has built up a trusted relationship over the last 20+ years. We sold these blouses for many years in the shop and retired the last of the stock into storage, but now is the time for these pieces to find new homes and be worn.

Made from 100% cotton voile, fully hand stitched, smocked and embroidered. It has a front and back yoke with the skirt smocked and gathered. Sleeves are a short puffed sleeve coming into a smocked cuff. This is a traditional garment worn by the women with full gathered skirts and embroidered belts. It is a different cut to the Sophie dress with a deep sleeve gusset which gives a looser fit under the arm and some extra room across the bust.

This garment has been photographed on a size 10 trade mannequin. Being handmade these garments all vary in size, they do not correspond to western size greats. Please refer to the measurements and try measuring them against garments in your wardrobe to get a feel for size if you aren’t handy with a tape measure on your body. The photos don’t catch the white colour of the voile fabric.

Washing instructions:

Hand wash or delicate machine wash in cold water.

Shake and line dry.

Do not soak or bleach.

Warm iron if you are one of those types of people, but really don’t waste your time.
