Harley of Scotland: L5017/7 Glenurgie Nep Crew Sweater HARRIS

A$299.00

HARRIS dark khaki/forest green with raspberry, burnt orange and sage green.

A classic Harley of Scotland fairisle yoke sweater. The yoke style is great for all shoulder types as it fits well around the shoulders and the natural ease is unhampered by seams. This garment has been knitted on a Shima Seiki ‘whole garment’ machine. The 100% merino Donegal tweed yarn is spun in Ireland and has beautiful flecks of colour through it.

Established in 1929 – with textile knowledge and technical expertise spanning three generations of the same Harley family – Harley of Scotland are market leaders in seam free whole garment knitwear. With a heritage anchored in fair isle knitting techniques, Harley garments are inspired by the local landscapes and culture of the North-East and Northern Isles of Scotland.

100% Merino Donegal tweed yarn

Care:

Wool is antibacterial so really only just wash if you’ve spilt something on it or at the end of the season when you are ready to pack your woollens away for the summer. A good airing on a breezy and sunny day will refresh your garments and clear any moisture that may have been absorbed while wearing.

If you do need to wash we suggest filling a bucket or trough with cool water, dissolve detergent (your choice) and swish around. Gently push the garment down onto the water and leave to soak. DO NOT USE HEAT OT AGITATE, THIS WAY LEADS TO FELTING AND RUINING YOUR GARMENT! Drain the soapy water out and refill with fresh water to rinse the garment, leave to drain. You can use the spin cycle on the washing machine to spin out the excess water, the knit may be popped into a lingerie bag to protect it while in the machine. Shake and reshape the garment and dry flat out of the sun. Lightly steam press on wool setting if needed…. or just wear it!

Store in a cotton or zip lock bag to keep the moths et al at bay. If they do get to your knits, learn to darn!

Model shots are of the same style in other colourways.
