Our Tumble Skirt has been on the go for a couple of seasons now and make it in a variety of fabrics, in this case a lovely handwoven cotton ikat from our weavers in central India. It is a medium weight and works well year round. This fabric is in the natural cotton area, colour and black with the intersection creating the pattern in a dark grey. Made up of monochromatic diamonds and zig-zags this ikat is bold and striking.

The skirt has an elasticated waistband, while is is gathered there is no overwhelming fullness in the waist area as the skirt has a full circle yoke. The yoke has been squared off and this creates peaks that can either stand out or fall back into the skirt. There are pockets in the side seams. This skirt works really well with a harvest smock layered over the top, the interplay of volume is fun and interesting.

It has been washed after making so has a nice crumpled look to it and we suggest cold water machine wash, shake out and dry on a hanger. Forget about ironing! Enjoy the texture of the fabric and doing something other than pressing garments that will get crushed anyway!

Measurements: This measurement is the standard waist size measurement, the waistband is elasticated so there is a generous ease. If you are between sizes we suggest going for the smaller size, the fit may be firm but still comfortable.

Cold water machine wash. Shake and dry on a hanger. Don’t waste time ironing. Do not bleach or tumble dry.
