If you know how we work here at Cottage Industry it is very much based in stocking things that we love. Azumi Sakata’s work definitely fits this criteria. I bought my first @zoomy piece for myself and decided we had to stock her work.

Azumi uses traditional embroidery techniques of silk stump and gold and silver bullion work on leather and silk. The hand holds a silk heart, with pearl nails and cuff. When you aren’t wearing the brooch it can be displayed in the handmade box, mounted on entomology pins.

Azumi lives and works in Tokyo and exhibits her larger pieces in galleries around the world.
