Our friend Nic Dowse as been supplying us with inner city honey for some years now. A couple of years ago we hooked him up with some friends who live on the top storey of a Brunswick Street building. They have an amazing terrace looking out over Fitzroy, Carlton and the City….. we used to party on this rooftop 25 years ago! There was an existing, but abandoned, hive there and Nic got to work on it, replacing and repairing bits and generally do all the things a good bee keeper should do.

These bees forage through out Fitzroy and Carlton and collect from a wide variety of plants. There is the jasmine and wisteria vines, the native and introduced trees, backyard roses…. it is a true urban honey with a wide range notes. This honey was robbed on the 19th of October and bottled on the 26th, it is raw and not heat treated so will crystallise in the jar. This honey couldn’t be more local with the hive being a short 5 minute stroll down the road.
